Meet Madara

I started Madara Couture not only because I love making clothes,  but because I couldn’t find what I was looking for.

I wanted pieces made from natural, breathable fabrics.
I wanted clothes that feel soft on the body.
I wanted designs that don’t fight your shape — but move with you.

As women, our bodies are constantly changing. And I think we don’t talk about that enough. I’ve gone through different sizes myself, and I know how frustrating it feels when something no longer fits —when you start questioning your body instead of the clothes. So I created pieces that adapt. Oversized cuts, flexible fits, and fabrics that stretch and move with you —so you can feel comfortable, confident, and at ease in your own skin.

Living in Barcelona also shaped everything.

The heat, the air, the lifestyle —you need fabrics that breathe. That’s why I work with linen, cotton, and bamboo. Materials that feel good on your skin and support your everyday life —not synthetic fabrics that trap heat and don’t serve your body.

My story started when I was a child.

I remember watching a runway show and telling my parents: “I’m not going to be the model — I’m going to make the clothes.” I didn’t even know the word “designer” yet, but I knew exactly what I wanted to do. Since then, I’ve followed that path. I studied womenswear in Latvia, then moved to Edinburgh to study menswear.
Later, I came to Barcelona — what started as the wrong reason turned out to be the right place.

And I stayed.

It took me time to find my style —and I’m still finding it. You’ll see different aesthetics in my work, because I don’t believe in limiting yourself to one identity. We change. We grow. Our style can too.

Madara Couture is a reflection of that. A space where you can feel free, comfortable, and yourself —in pieces that are made with intention, and meant to stay with you.
